About us

We are Beth’s Cat Rescue

Beth’s Cat Rescue was founded by Elizabeth Innes in 2000 (originally as Wansbeck and Blyth Valley District Cat Rescue). We’re a small charity run by family and friends, gratefully supported by the kindness of volunteers, donations and our cat-loving community.

We care for cats in Northumberland and North Tyneside, England, UK. We usually cover Bedlington, Blyth and North Shields (postcodes NE22 to NE30) as this is where the majority of our volunteers are based, but we’re busy onboarding more volunteers to cover more ground.

We don’t yet have a shelter that you can visit, but we hope to one day! For now, we operate out of private homes.

Our services include:

  • rehoming stray, neglected or unwanted cats and kittens
  • reuniting lost pets with their owners
  • support with health checks, neutering and microchipping
  • advice and education on cat care and welfare

Our mission is to relieve the suffering of cats who are in need of care and protection. Our vision is a world in which cats and their needs are understood and respected.
